Well, they remind me of a comic book you lend me - one of the older works of 成田美名子 about an Arabian Prince and his friends. Most of the time the prince donned on fancy western style clothes, but sometimes when he was in his Arabian costume, he also wore a pair of machete. That my only knowledge of machete.
