Money & Happiness

Whoever that said money cannot buy happiness have not ran into these awesome Petsmart tote bags yet:

I am very offended that there are more dog design than cat's. Still on the fence if I should be offended that the dog ones are $4.99 and the cats ones are only $3.99. :O I hope that's just a typo on their website. (Yes, I own 5 of these. :) Bringing your own tote bags to grocery shop = yuppie. :)

Black Friday Shopping

Okay, so we avoided all the gun-shooting, pepper-spraying numbnuts and went out to do our black Friday shopping at noon. I would have been totally fine staying home all day long except the husband whined about new clothes from the Men's Warehouse. Ugh. To make the trip worth our while, we hit a few more places and purchased this:

Only took the hubby an hour to install but it looks so awesome. =D Next project: the entire kitchen sink.

Movie Review: Crazy, Stupid, Love

Love it!!! Absolutely loved it!! :)

[Spoiler alert: as if that is possible.] Absolutely love the part when the player guy spend the night chatting with the girl and fell in love with her. A lot better than other stupid romance comedy when these two people who started out hating each other just mysteriously turned into a couple at the end -- because that's the only way to end a romance comedy. Personally I think it would be better if he didn't disappear from the dad friend and actually expressed to him how he was actually in love (though he wouldn't know it's with his daughter) and the dad could see that he was a changed man since he met this girl, but I guess if everything just happens perfectly, there will be no stories and no movies. Haha. Even the husband liked the movie, though, of course, not as much as I did. So, watch it, Amazon stream, baby! Only $0.99 right now!!

Movie Review: Water for Elephant

[Spoiler Alert] This movie is better than expected. I will give it a four stars. It was less sad than expected. Not sure if the ending was forced... but I like happy endings, so to hell with that! :)

Shopping #6: Cute Japanese Erasers

I also found a new knickknack store (which I refer to as "junk store" because they sell all junk according to my husband) while I was wandering around the mall. A short trip into the mall caused more damage to my credit card:

The husband said there's a theme to it -- all desserts -- with the exception of maybe the hamster. :S

Movie Review: Horrible Bosses

Ugh, God awful to say the least. So bad my brain shut down and didn't even bother analyzing which parts don't make sense. =.= But hey, always someone who likes a stupid movie, can't blame a girl for trying. :)

I am giving it a 2 stars.

Shopping #5: Tea Forte Cocktail Infusions

The Gap fuzzy slippers was an unplanned purchase, I was reeled into the store by all the fuzzy stuff in the windows while I was on the way to Tea Forte Cocktail Infusions.

After walking all the way across the mall and getting to one of the retailed location according to the website, the sales person told me that she "took a lot of those home" (employee purchased). Ugh. Such a wrong thing to tell to your customer. :( She could have just told me sold out. :'( Now I will have to purchase them online. :'(

Shopping #4: Fuzzy Gap Slipper Boots

If I would stop at the Cowboy shirt and the Shark's hat, I won't be much of a shopaholic now, would I? I also bought these fuzzy slippers from Gap. :)

Shopping #3: Cancer Awareness Baseball Cap (Didn't really buy this one)

You might wonder (as I'm SURE you do) why the sports theme for my random shopping spree. Well, all this started because I was search for the breast cancer awareness hat that I saw a while back at Sports Authority. If I could find the actual link of the one I saw at Sports Authority, I would, but since I can't, this one will have to do (note the review on the item before making a purchase):

So a bunch of random stuff later, I still do not have the breast cancer awareness hat. I guess my pink San Diego Padres hat will have to do. :)

Shopping #2: Shark's Knit Hat

My shopping spree did not stop at Dallas Cowboy. Today I continued my random purchases and acquired this Shark's knit hat:

Why? Because I saw a blonde girl playing softball in it. It's the same idea all advertisers want you to have: the blonde girl wearing it looked cute, therefore, if I wear the same hat, I will, naturally, be as cute as her! HAHAHA

Shopping #1: Taxas Cowboy Shirt :)

Well I did have the word "shopaholic" in the title of my blog. :) So I went berserk the last couple of days and bought a bunch of random stuff. Here's item #1, a breast cancer awareness Dallas Cowboy shirt:

Hubby's comment (when I showed him the link) was: My wife shopping on NFL.com? Who ARE you?
Hubby's comment #2 (after I made the purchase) was: DALLAS COWBOY? You couldn't have bought a Raider's one?
Friend F's comment: But you don't even watch football! (Who said you will have to watch football, or be a Dallas Cowboy to buy their breast cancer awareness shirt? :D

Movie Review: Residence

Okay, I will admit, the only reason this movie caught my eyes were because we were at Blockbuster (awesome $0.49 for all $1.99 movies weekend!!) and there's all but one copy left on this title. So I figured it can't go wrong going with this. Can anything really go wrong with $0.49? I guess it could turn out to be 1.5 hour of my life that I never got back. But, again, if you are into thriller type movie, I will recommend this one. Of course, your generic usual ending, but it's a solid movie. "Solid" being defined as not that many holes.

Spoiler (and my contemplation):

1) Liked the part when she has security camera installed... but why is her computer on 24/7? It's constantly saying "7 recordings available," why didn't the guy see it?
2) Great that she thought that something was wrong and ran a blood test on herself... but why would she go back to her apartment by herself? Ugh. Once the tox screen came back, it's a very good time to call a cop.
3) Love the part at the beginning of the movie making her an ER doctor and stapling a patient's heart. Heh. Good foreshadow. :)

Movie Review: Insidious

Been procrastinating about this post for so long that I hardly remember the actual movie, but I do remember that if you like this type of movies, this is not a bad choice. :)

Movie Review: Paranormal Activity 2 [Spoiler Alert]

Definitely better than Paranormal Activity 1, part I somehow took an  not so interesting turn in the middle of the movie -- when they showed the woman just standing there next to the bed for hours... then you saw the foot prints... I guess it ruins it for me once the monsters/demons/spirits take on a tangible form.

2's "scariness" is more consistent, then again, it's always scary when you combine eerie music and loud noises (probably don't even need the visual). Oh, and 2 is also educational -- never know there's a difference between "demons" and "ghosts"... probably because all "ghosts" come from dead people in the Chinese culture.

Here comes the spoiler part: The only part I don't get is: if the demon's purpose is to get to the boy, why did it

1) harass the mother (female) when she was a child
2) what's the purpose behind making the pots and pans fell and starting a fire on the kitchen stove (maybe to prompt the mother to give it the son?)
3) moving the pool cleaner? really?
4) the relationship between the demon and the basement? It kept implying that the demon came from the basement... I guess it's the lowest part of the house and closest to hell, maybe?
5) Once it possessed the mother, why not just make her take the child and disappear? Why wait till it was driven into the aunt, then have the aunt killed the parents then disappeared with the child?

So many questions. Yes, yes, suspension of disbelief. :)
